Trauma-Informed Emotional Wellbeing Support

A Trauma-Informed, Holistic Approach to Emotional Healing

For those seeking accessible, reflective, and flexible therapeutic support who cannot or do not want to attend traditional face-to-face or video call therapy.

How it works: Users log in via a computer or phone to complete reading and activity exercises on their own schedule to manage stress, anxiety, low mood, or symptoms of C-PTSD and chronic illness.

Self-paced online therapy programmes offer flexibility and ease of access. There are no assignments or 1:1 calls involved. They remove traditional barriers to mental health support, making them a practical choice for many people.

This service offers holistic and spiritual wellness support and is not a substitute for medical or clinical psychological therapy.

Flexible. Private. Self-paced. Designed around your journey.

As there is no interaction with a therapist or other participants who are on this programme, it means it should not used for obtaining a diagnosis or as a talking therapy. It is a psycho-education tool for those who cannot afford regular 1:1 therapy sessions or who prefer not to speak to someone and would rather process their traumatic experiences in private.

Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)

Trauma-Informed CBT is a specialised, evidence-based form of talking therapy designed to adults evaluate and change unhelpful thought patterns caused by traumatic events. While standard CBT focuses broadly on managing present-day anxiety and depression, TF-CBT actively integrates the processing of trauma memories to safely reduce long-term post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) symptoms.

Jungian Therapy - Shadow Work

Shadow work is the process of exploring your unconscious mind, specifically your 'shadow self', which contains repressed fears, traumas, and hidden personality traits. Rooted in Jungian psychology (Carl Jung), it involves uncovering why you feel triggered, jealous, or act in self-sabotaging ways, ultimately allowing you to integrate these parts of yourself for personal growth.

Spiritual Alchemy

Spiritual alchemy for healing from relationships is the practice of transmuting heavy emotional pain, grief, and resentment into self-awareness, compassion, and reaching inner wholeness. Rather than trying to fix the past or the other person, it uses the heat of emotional triggers as a sacred crucible to turn inward and transform your own consciousness.

Techniques May Include:

  • Grounding techniques

  • Nervous system regulation methods

  • Cognitive re-structuring

  • Addressing past wounds

  • Boundary setting

Where appropriate, spiritual healing practices may be suggested. The focus is, however, on cognitive processing and holistically healing your nervous system.

Why Choose Self-Paced Therapy

While these online trauma recovery programmes offer powerful advantages for trauma reflection and personal transformation, it is less suited for acute crisis management or severe, uncontained dissociation.

Not a Direct Replacement for Clinical Care: Purely self-paced programmes provide educational frameworks and tools, but they lack real-time therapist feedback and deep relational healing. If you prefer this, 1:1 sessions would be better suited to you.
Requires Self-Motivation: You must hold yourself accountable to log in, complete the modules, and apply the tools.
Not for Crises: If you are dealing with severe trauma, self-harm, or active safety crises, structured individual therapy is necessary instead.

How It Benefits Those With Complex Trauma (C-PTSD)

These self-paced online therapy programmes let you learn coping strategies and review the modules on your own schedule without booking fixed appointment times. People choose them for total schedule flexibility, lower costs compared to live 1:1 sessions, and the ability to re-read or practice exercises whenever needed.

Complete Flexibility: Access modules, videos, and worksheets late at night, on weekends, or during work breaks.

No Travel Needed: Complete the work entirely from home, saving time and transit costs.

Affordability: More affordable than regular 1:1 weekly therapy sessions.

Private and Low Pressure: Work through sensitive topics entirely on your own terms without feeling rushed or judged.

Reusability: Revisit core lessons and skill toolkits anytime your symptoms flare up or you need to remind yourself of a specific term, topic, or holistic healing technique.

Things To Note About Online Therapy Programmes

These online therapy programmes benefit people with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by providing a low-arousal, highly controllable environment that bypasses the intense nervous system triggers often caused by face-to-face or video contact.

Trauma survivors frequently struggle with hypervigilance, shame, and severe avoidance, so this type of holistic therapy is a much gentler, more manageable approach.

It's Discreet: Online programmes are highly discreet because it does not require verbal privacy and physical travel. It can blend completely into your daily screen time and everyday life.

Eliminates Interpersonal Triggers: Meeting in person or on video requires constantly reading facial expressions, maintaining eye contact, interpreting body language, and trying to listen to and process what is being said. For those with C-PTSD, this can trigger a constant 'fight, flight, freeze, or fawn' response. Online programmes completely eliminate these real-time social pressures, reducing hypervigilance and nervous system dysregulation.

Sidesteps the 'Freeze' Response: During live or in-person sessions, traumatic memories can trigger a physical freeze response or selective mutism, rendering the client unable to speak. Reading allows individuals to bypass this entirely, making it easier to process painful or shameful experiences.

Bypasses Severe Avoidance: Avoidance is a core diagnostic feature of PTSD. The requirement to leave the house, travel, and sit in an unfamiliar space can cause a client to drop out of therapy entirely. These online recovery programmes allow them to engage safely from their own comfortable environment.

Acts as an Emotional Regulation Tool: Clients can read through each module, step away to ground themselves if they become overwhelmed, and return to process and read the rest later. This type of pacing prevents the emotional flooding that often happens in live trauma processing.

Serves as a 'Living' Anchor Against Flashbacks: C-PTSD and PTSD cause emotional flashbacks and memory fragmentation. Having a permanent, written record of the therapist’s grounding, validating words allows the client to re-read the text during moments of crisis to remind themselves that they are safe in the present.

Reduces Intense Toxic Shame: Many trauma survivors experience deep shame regarding their trauma or its symptoms (such as self-harm or dissociation). Processing these thoughts in this way provides a buffer against the feared immediate judgement or rejection from the therapist.

  • Distinction Level Spiritual Life Coach

Hi, I’m Alice - a Nature-based Spiritual Life Coach & Holistic Therapist based in Mid Wales.

I first discovered the benefits of holistic healing after being diagnosed with chronic illness as a result of emotional abuse in the workplace that impacted by nervous system. Over the years, I have used a mix of self-therapy and holistic healing sessions to work on myself and improve my wellbeing. I have seen first-hand the powerful benefits this has on transforming my life, and wanted to pass on my learnt wisdom and knowledge onto others in the same positions as I have been in.

My work focuses on helping individuals improve their wellbeing and healing the mind, body, and soul by blending nature-based spirituality and holistic healing into modern everyday life. Not only is it about helping you overcome negative thought patterns and beliefs, but also about showing you ways to heal your nervous system and empower you to take charge of your own life, stepping forward with confidence.
